24 Sep Trading Tunes with Positively Positive Party

On the October 6th, local legend CC:DISCO is throwing (and playing at) an event called Club Coco (2017 Finale) at Banana : Peach AKA The Bottom End, with international big names Mark Grusane (Chicago) and John Gomez (UK). This event will also features local collectors Positively Positive Party who understand not only how to have a fantastic time, but be creative with the process. Expect to see this trio of musical minds behind PPP regularly this summer as the season warms up.

Positively Positive Party have sent us five Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis tracks to shake an absolute leg to.

“One of the most powerful production teams ever formed, the red hot combined talents of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are responsible for some of the funkiest music ever laid down. From their unstoppable run of smash hits with Janet Jackson to their buttery smooth work with boogie king Alexander O’Neal, and their slamming New Jack Swing tracks with outfits like New Edition, these guys nailed it every time. With their signature swing and crafty synth work, Jam and Lewis were masters of the dancefloor heater. Everybody would know at least one Jam and Lewis jam whether they realise it or not, and there has yet to be a Positively Positive party thrown without at least one of their tracks making an appearance, so here are 5 of their spiciest tracks for your aural pleasure.”

Janet Jackson – ‘Nasty’

Sounds Of Blackness – ‘The Pressure Pt. 1’

New Edition – ‘Crucial’

Mint Condition – ‘Are You Free (10 Inch After Dinner Mint Mix)’

Alexander O’Neal – ‘What’s Missing’
