This Week…

6th and 7th April

Harvey Sutherland & Bermuda

Tickets here

Harvey Sutherland and his band Bermuda are bringing their rhythm and vibe-heavy dance music to The Night Cat to celebrate the release of their new six track EP Expectations.

Mildlife, Millú, and Jimmy Caution are playing support on Thursday night, before a complete line-up change-up on Friday featuring Sui Zhen and her band, Kova, and Pjenné.

Friday, 7th April

Hysterical Records Launch

Tickets on the door

Amanda Vitartas (of publicity label Future Popes), Grace Kindellan (of the band Wet Lips) and Jenny McKechnie (of Wet Lips and Cable Ties) have combined forces to form Hysterical Records — a new, inclusive Melbourne-based label.

To celebrate they’re throwing a big ol’ launch party at The Old Bar on Friday night, where you can see sets from Wet Lips and the freshly-signed Shrimpwitch, alongside Hexdebt and DJ sets from LAZERTITS and DJ Dee-Luscious.

Saturday, 8th April

Split Singles Club Launch

Tickets Here

On Saturday night at The Curtin you can be a part of another launch party, this one for Split Singles Club — a 7″ vinyl subscription service from the brilliant minds at Milk! Records and Bedroom Suck.

Blank Realm, Jade Imagine, Dag, Lehmann B. Smith, Primo! and Hachiku are all playing on the night. Have a peek at our Trading Tunes with Dan from Blank Realm here to get into the groove/mood.

Saturday, 8th April

DIET. 2am Show at Yah Yah’s

Tickets on the door

The surf-rock boys of DIET. are on at Yah Yah’s this weekend, playing the 2am set on Saturday night (yes, technically Sunday morning, don’t @ me).

This weekend is partially a celebration of the release of the video for ‘VB‘, and probably your last opportunity to see their firey live show for a bit before they buckle down to record their next EP — so stay up late and have a dance.

Saturday, 8th April

Daydreams’ Closing Party

Tickets on the door

Though it has been rumoured near constantly throughout the past month or so, this weekend sees the true finale of Daydreams at The Gasometer for this season. The line-up is still secret but rest assured… it’ll be very good.

Entry is $10 on the door and all proceeds are going to Culture is Life. Doors are at 3pm, get down early or you’ll almost certainly miss out.
