Music venues around Melbourne house some of the best local and international acts. We’ve compiled our top five picks for gigs this week so you don’t miss out. Be a part of one of the best live music cities in the world, and check out some of our favourite artists and venues.

This Week…

2pm – 10pm Saturday, 22nd April

Bunker presents Soft-Pedal 7

~Free Entry~

Whether you missed out on Inner Varnika last week or you’re looking to re-live the experience, head to Joey Smalls in Brunswick on Saturday for the same vibe with no door charge.

Moopie, Shedbug, Adrian Bell, Jess Sneddon and Stacey Holmes will all be spinning tracks in the outdoor garden area.

3pm – 6pm Saturday, 22nd April

New Lease #99 – Poppongene, Way Dynamic, Frances Fox

~Free Entry~

The conveniently-located Curtin is hosting a Saturday afternoon freebie as well, with tunes from 3pm.

Here at Ripe we’re unashamedly huge fans of the three acts on the line-up — Poppongene, Way Dynamic and Francis Fox — so you’d be crazy not to take the opportunity to check them out all at once.

8pm – 11:55pm Saturday, 22nd April

The Goon Sax, Suss Cunts, RVG, Parsnip

Tickets Here

Rumour has it that The Goon Sax could be jetting off overseas soon, so Saturday night at The Gasometer could be your last chance to catch them live for a while.

And if for some strange reason that isn’t enough to entice you, Suss Cunts, RVG and Parnsip fill out the rest of the bill. Wowzer.

10pm – 5am Saturday, 22nd April

Cool Room presents Avalon Emerson

Tickets Here

Cool Room couldn’t throw a bad party even if they tried — and Saturday night at 24 Moons is sure to keep up their rep of great tunes and friendly crowds.

Avalon Emerson has become a force in recent years, producing her own spin on the sounds often heard in Berlin, but she’s not the only draw card. Roza Terenzi and Hymns are also reliable tune selectors guaranteed to keep your feet moving all night.

10pm – 6am Saturday, 22nd April

Lucid with Otologic, Darcy Justice & Josh Keys

~Free Entry~

If you wanted to show your tourist friends a very Melbourne event, in the middle of the city and for free, then Otologic at Lucid would be the perfect introduction.

If Lucid isn’t ringing any bells, you could be more familiar with the venue’s former name — Lounge Bar. Considering it’s open until 6am, this is probably where you want to finish your Saturday night.
